Horizontal Miller

An experienced CNC Horizontal Miller is required on a permanent basis to join our production team. The successful CNC Miller will be responsible for programming, setting and operating a horizontal machining centre with Fanuc controls.

Suitable machinists will ideally be apprentice trained and have a strong understanding of Fanuc controls and have machined components to meet customer specifications for the Automotive, Ministry, Aerospace, F1 and Medical industries.

CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator – Fanuc Control – up to 5 axis machines

  • We require a time served apprentice in engineering with experience of:
  • manufacturing parts for Automotive, Ministry, Aerospace, F1 and Medical industries desirable.
  • producing small and large batch quantities of components to meet customer specifications.
  • planning the most efficient sequence of operations for the job.
  • checking that work meets quality and technical guidelines.

Key skills required:

  • operating CNC horizontal or vertical milling machines as a minimum skill requirement
  • working on Mori Seiki and Haas machines
  • working to tight tolerances
  • machining a wide range of materials
  • loading fixtures, programs and tooling according to setup sheets
  • running work through and checking using a metrology cmm automated checking machine
  • health & safety awareness

Contracts Engineer

Supporting the commercial, engineering and production activities, the Contracts Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day customer support of engineering-biased, multi-line contracts for specific major customers.

The role will include responsibility for fielding all commercial and engineering-related issues, including quoting, order book / shipment management, bid packages, front-end contract review etc.  Liaison with engineering, production, quality and logistics departments is an essential part of this role, and as such the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a working awareness of these activities within a manufacturing environment.

This role is customer facing, and as such a key requirement is the ability to develop customer relationships, work to strict deadlines and ensure communication is maintained at all times.

The role may suit candidates who are currently in a customer-facing role in a manufacturing environment who wish to develop further their commercial and engineering skills.

Production Planner

The product base is typically high variety, medium volume component manufacture of engineered products, with an emphasis on maximising production throughput within a Total Quality environment.

The Role:

  • You will be responsible for managing the production planning activity through efficient, cost-effective and timely factory capacity planning from initial order to product delivery.
  • This will include a network of sub-contract suppliers involving materials and processes which directly influence the production planning throughput.
  • You will have appropriate experience of production planning / scheduling within a complex engineering, component manufacturing and assembly environment, including capacity planning techniques and processes utilising MRP systems.
  • Additionally you will be able to demonstrate your understanding of the criticality of quality, service and delivery performance KPIs to this role.

Our desired applicant will be an experienced Production Planner.
